Why I built aRPG Timeline
How one Path of Exile veteran's frustration turned a weekend GitHub side project into aRPG Timeline - and why it needs your support to keep going.

For years I was a Path of Exile veteran and I rarely switched to any other ARPG. A couple of years ago there weren't really any solid options out there. I was all in on the Path of Exile development cycle, playing almost every league and rarely thinking about releases. It was clear that a new Path of Exile league arrives once every 3 or 4 months.
The last few years have changed everything in the genre, though. There were a lot of huge releases - Diablo IV, Diablo II Resurrected, Last Epoch, Path of Exile II - and those are only the giants. So many newcomers joined the genre that I just could not decide what to play or when. I felt frustrated: I would be all in on one game and then, hey, there's a new release next weekend, or I had just missed a new Last Epoch content update. Technically I knew I should just play what I want and take it easy, but if you're reading this, you know how it feels. You want to be there at a season's start. You need to feel that fresh economy. You want to compete and experience everything the developers have been cooking up for the last few months. And even if you only play a game for a week or two, it's better to know what's coming and plan ahead.
A side project was born in my head. I built a very simple website for myself and hosted it on GitHub as a static site. That was the beginning of something bigger, though I did not realize it back then.

I thought, why should it be just for me? Maybe I should share it on Reddit and see if anybody likes it. I did not even bother to write a proper post - I just dropped a link without context and went to bed. I woke up to something I had not expected at all: a lot of traffic, and plenty of replies and feedback. I felt I had a mission now. I decided to wrap up what I had, put in as much effort as I could over a single weekend, listen to the feedback, add new games and prepare a solid announcement. We were starting something big.

It did not take long to see it was the right call. The post got over 200k views on Reddit, hundreds of replies, and even streamers talking about the website live on Twitch. I am all in now, putting a lot of my free time into making the site available to ARPG heads all over the world. It has thousands of visitors each month, over 30 games tracked, stream announcements and plenty of other features - and it is still growing.

The story does not end here, but it has definitely reached a point where I cannot do it alone anymore. I need your help to fund the maintenance and development costs, plan new features, keep the trackers up to date and spread the word. If you're reading this, it means we can do this together. Thank you for your support!
