Diablo V is coming Spring 2029
The next era of Diablo is taking shape. Diablo V is in development, coming Spring 2029.

Blizzard Entertainment announced at the BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony that Diablo V is in development.
The reveal post frames the premise as a loss:
The heroes of the past have failed, Sanctuary has fallen, and Diablo has won.
You play the Heir to Westmarch, on the run through the charred remains of a kingdom now transformed into an outpost of Hell. The Lord of Terror is present from the moment the game begins.

What’s coming
The developers named Diablo II as the main inspiration, both its itemization and overall feel - extended with a deep crafting system that follows the mechanics introduced in the Diablo IV expansion, with Diablo II-style Runes and Runewords. Alongside it, the team is working on item clarity and experimenting with stat requirements.
The development team announced the following classes:
- Demon Hunter - returning
- Monk - returning
- Plague Knight - a brand-new class
As the game is still in early development, Blizzard Entertainment plans to share regular updates starting in 2027. With almost three years before we see the game’s final shape, these early insights already show where the latest addition to the Diablo family is leaning.
