Greetings, Ravens! Kintarō's DLC and associated free update are now live on all platforms! Reach the patch notes below for all the details about Ravenswatch's newest hero and changes. TL;DR: Because we know our patch notes are lengthy ones, and you probably just want to play, here’s a “too long, didn’t read!” summary just for you: Hero DLC Kintarō joins the Ravenswatch! Dual Gameplay with Kintarō and Kuma (8 abilities) New Memoirs New Dialogs with other Heroes New Skins New Achievements Get the Kintarō Hero DLC on Steam: Free Update Talents Reworks: +50 Talents have been tweaked, buffed, or replaced Custom Lobbies Balancing & Quality of Life improvements Read the detailed patch notes below for more information. Patch Notes (1.6) Due to major content changes, any existing run in progress has been discarded. Your overall progress has not been affected. Finish your run before updating the game if you don’t want to lose it! Thank you for your understanding. Hero DLC Kintarō joins the Ravenswatch! Kintarō & Kuma: Dual gameplay style! Kuma, the bear, can be controlled with the right joystick (point with the mouse & A on KB+M) Mounted Stance: Claw Swipes (ATTACK) Charge (POWER) Leap (SPECIAL) Roar (DEFENSE) Dismounted Stance: Axe (ATTACK) Whirl and Pound (POWER) Double Leap (SPECIAL) Roar and Shout (DEFENSE) 2 Ultimate abilities 26 unlockable Talents 7 fully-voiced pages of Kintarō’s Memoirs 4 unlockable Outfits (Explorer, Signature, Master, Hidden) 3 premium Outfits (Raven, Nightmare, Royal Counselor) 3 new achievements (Steam only) Free update Talents Reworks SCARLET Devourer: Is now a repeatable quest, granting +0.4/0.5/0.6/0.7 DMG when killing an enemy with the POWER ability in Wolf form Short Wick: Talent removed and replaced with ‘Deadly Combo’ (New Behavior) Distant Explosion: Bombs now explode as soon as they hit the ground. SPECIAL ’s explosion does not stun Scarlet anymore (ULTIMATE Ability) Hunter’s Souvenir : Players can now consume multiple charges of the Shotgun ultimate in quick succession instead of automatically exiting the ability Murderous Intent: Combo points granted increased from 2 to 3 Evisceration: Damage dealt in Bleed per combo point spent increased from 8/10/12/14% to 16/20/24/28% Pack Leader : Human form: HP restored increased from 3/4/5/6 to 5/6/7/8 Wolf form: SHIELD applied to Heroes increased from 12-25/13-27/15-30/16-32 to 15-28/18-35/22-42/26-49 Reload: Talent removed and replaced with ‘Focus’ (New Talent) Focus: Human form: The shotgun fires piercing bullets with greater range, dealing 350/437/525/612 damage Wolf form: The gust summons a tornado that remains on the ground, dealing 70/87/105/122 damage per second (New Talent) Deadly Combo : POWER ends with an area attack dealing 40/50/60/70% damage Transformation: Scarlet can no longer shapeshift into a Werewolf and back while a Master Nightmare is stunned Design Notes: As the oldest character developed, Scarlet had some issues we can finally address. She had multiple effects in Talents that cleared or reduced cooldowns. These effects are not very exciting, since they kind of overlap with Magical Objects doing the same thing. So we reworked Devourer, Short Wick, and Reload for these reasons. Integrating the other aspect of Short Wick into Distant Explosion lets us really offer a different game feel for this Starting Talent, while Devourer opens a new path to scaling and POWER-centric builds, especially with the introduction of the Deadly Combo Talent. With these changes, we aimed to rekindle interest in all of her Starting Talents. THE PIED PIPER Rats : Rats do not automatically attack enemies that are not in combat after killing an enemy in combat Sound Barrier: ARMOR granted from +1 to + 1.5 , SHIELD gain from 12/15/18/21 to 15/18/21/24 Explosive Blast: Damage dealt increased from 40/50/60/70 to 45/56/67/78 (New Behavior) Stimulant Vibes: Rats can now die within the SPECIAL zone, but have a 50/63/75/88% chance to respawn when they die. This allows effects like ‘Explosive Rats’ to proc and generate additional damage Rats attacking within SPECIAL 's zone gain +20% damage, and rats have a 50% chance to respawn when they die Rat King: Rat Kings now also increase damage dealt by explosive Rats by 100% when they die Design Notes: The main rework is about Stimulant Vibes, which prevented Rats from dying. By design, Rats are meant to die, encouraging synergy with Talents that allow better Rat generation. We changed it to ensure that all Rat-related Talents synergize well. BEOWULF Shield Charge: Damage increased from +100/125/150/175% to +150/187/225/262% Sudden Growth: Damage increased from +20/25/30/35% to +40/50/60/70% . Zone size has also been increased Battle Cry: Now increases Move Speed of all Heroes around instead of removing POWER Cooldown Bladestorm: Adapted description to specify that Beowulf remains INTANGIBLE through all additional spins Secondary Tremor: Talent removed and replaced by ‘Maelstrom’ (New Talent) Maelstrom : SPECIAL’s final hit deals +24/30/36/42% damage for each enemy already hit (up to +120/150/180/210%) Design Notes: The Battle Cry change is about the same thing we did for Scarlet. Ability cooldown resets are rarely good in Talents. The new effect is more tangible for all Heroes around. Secondary Tremor suffered from a lack of control over where the shockwave would go in the end. We now propose Maelstrom to strengthen the SPECIAL-oriented builds. SNOW QUEEN (SPECIAL Ability) Ice Shards: Damage increased from 65 to 80 (DEFENSE Ability) Ice Skating: Increased minimum cooldown of the DEFENSE ability from 2 to 5 (New Behavior) Frost Queen: Removed the additional slowdown on enemies. Replaced with: Enemies CHILLED by the Snow Queen suffer 5 damage per second Ice Spray: Damage increased from 20/25/30/35% to 32/40/48/56% Ice Beam: Damage increased from 160% to 180/225/270/315% Ice Cores: Now summons 2 cores of ice for each enemy hit by POWER (from 1 ) Design Notes: SPECIAL-oriented builds for the Snow Queen have always been considered to be too weak compared to others, so we improved its default damage and improved the related Talents to make them more efficient. ALADDIN (SPECIAL Ability) Enchanted Blades: Blades can now, by default, be recalled sooner by triggering SPECIAL again Aerial Catch: Increased ARMOR gained from +1 to +2 Jinn’s Might: The maximum charge is now reached faster Cyclonic Appearance: Talent removed and replaced with ‘Jinn Charge’ Dancing Blades: Talent removed and replaced with ‘Spectral Blades’ (New Talent) Jinn Charge: DASH used after POWER summons the Jinn to charge through enemies and deal 25/31/37/43 damage (New Talent) Spectral Blades: Retrieving SPECIAL’s blades before they return to Aladdin triggers a flurry of attacks that can deal up to 44/55/66/77 area damage Design Notes: Cyclonic Appearance had too small of an application/synergy with the behavior of the POWER itself. While Dancing Blades didn’t have a huge impact on SPECIAL-oriented builds, as it was mainly a source of additional ENERGY. This opened up two slots to create new Talents with better synergies with his kit. MELUSINE Shimmering Scales: Temporary ARMOR gained every second increased from +4/6/8/10 to +8/12/16/20. You can now reach the max value quicker Underwater Predator: Melusine's speed has been increased when underwater Enduring Wisp: The Wisp does not automatically attack enemies that are not in combat GEPPETTO Unstable Core: Time before effect is active reduced from 5 seconds to 3 seconds Master Puppet: Max Health gain increased from +20/25/30/35% to +32/40/48/56% and damage increased from 10/12/14/16% to 16/20/24/28% Nailing Strike: Attack speed has been increased (ULTIMATE Ability) Mecha Puppet: Reduced HP from 200 to 180 Mecha Puppet is now affected by ‘Unstable Core’, triggering an explosion on death only (not when hit by a POWER ability SUN WUKONG Way of Awakening: Reduced the number of DEFENSE actions necessary from 8 to 7 Thirst for Immortality: Changed the rarity of objects needed from RARE to EPIC or better Stick Twirl: Doesn’t interrupt attack combo anymore Ringing Beads: When used with ‘Ōm’, Beads scale in size as well to keep hitting enemies Focused Strikes: Reduced damage from +12/16/20/24% to 8/10/12/14% Design Notes: The idea behind Thirst of Immortality is to have a Starting Talent acting as a long quest, with little immediate reward and a major reward upon completion. Through game updates, it became easier to collect 7 rare+ Magical Objects very quickly, and the huge VITALITY buff let it snowball very fast. Making the Objects epic+ keeps the idea of the Talent while delaying its completion more (you don’t become “immortal” easily!). Also, we tempered Focused Strikes damage output because it benefits a lot from synergies with other POWER talents, plus it makes this ability able to deal all damage to a single target, although POWER is basically balanced to strike multiple targets. This should still remain really strong, though. CARMILLA (New Behavior) Seductive Provocation: Using DASH input without specifying a move direction makes Carmilla seduce up to 4 non-boss enemies in front of her, applying WEAKENED and VULNERABLE to them for 6/7/9/10 seconds Seductive Provocation now inflicts Stun and Stagger Used to scale on the maximum number of enemies affected, now scales on the duration of the effect Dash is no longer consumed Attack animation has been greatly accelerated (ULTIMATE Ability) Impalement: Consume all BLOOD even in Winged Form (was not the case before) (ULTIMATE Ability) Blood Lash: Blood collected increased from 2/2/6 to 6/6/12 Life Tap: Health consumed from 20% to 15% , BLOOD collected from 30/40/50/60 to 40/50/60/70 , cooldown from 5 seconds to 10 seconds ‘Life Tap’ now triggers every TRAIT Talent Bat Master: Reduced damage from +40/50/60/70% to +20/25/30/35% Design Notes: A new take on Seductive Provocation! We also adjusted Life Tap that was on the weak side, and Bat Master so it remains mainly a “utility” starting Talent. ROMEO Love Thread: Increased damage from 33/41/50/58 to 44/55/65/76 (ULTIMATE Ability) Black Roses: Cooldown reduced from 75 to 60 seconds (New Behavior) Panache: Each Panache token increases ATTACK damage by 20% instead of granting +5 DMG Secret Weapon: Damage increased from +32/40/48/56% to +40/50/60/70% . Now up to 4 successful blocks instead of 3 Ice Rose: Damage reduced to +32/40/48/56% from 40/50/60/70% Kick: Damage is now displayed in numerical value. Damage increased from 44 (400%) to 48 (436%) . Wind Spiral: VFX adjusted to better match the attack Design Notes: An overall buff of underused Talents. New Panache opens up to a more specific synergy with ATTACKS. Ice Rose bonus damage has been toned down a little due to the amount of easy synergies it has. JULIET Juliet’s HP: Reduced to 90 from 100 (POWER Ability) Power Shot: VFX has been reworked to better highlight Perfect shots Wedding Gift: Chances to trigger the effect increased from +20/10/5% to +25/12/6% Guns & Roses: Damage increased from +20/25/30/35% to +28/35/42/49% Volcanic Shots: AMMO consumed increased from 1 to 3 Lucky Shot: Chances to trigger a POWER from 6/8/10/12% to 4/5/6/7% Design Notes: Juliet was clearly (and will probably still be!) the most successful character, so we adjusted her base HP to be more in line with other “range” characters. The almighty Volcanic Shots Starting Talent is also adjusted so it encourages more to consider synergy with Talents related to AMMO management rather than just being strong alone or with other ATTACK/POWER talents. Because of her unique mechanics, where her defense can also function as an attack, Juliet naturally creates synergy across all her abilities. The Lucky Shot Talent further bridges the gap between ATTACK and POWER, and thus DEFENSE. The changes made to Juliet are intended to restore some technical depth to the character compared to the rest of the roster. General Adjustments & Quality of Life improvements MELODIES: Godmother Melody: The Godmother Melody is now available on every Chapter (previously was only on Avalon) Little Tailor Melody: Now triggers above level 6 (instead of 10) and grants 1 power up (instead of 3) Goose Girl Melody: Now scales on Damage instead of Levels. Now deals 100 damage every 10 seconds (instead of 150 every 15 seconds) ACTIVITIES: Morgan’s Quests: Morgan’s Quests in Avalon are now color-coded to set them apart: King Arthur (Dullahan)’s quest is indicated with a blue door Mordred’s quest is now indicated with a purple door Sinbad vs Roc: Sinbad's starting dialogues have been shortened to make the quest flow more smoothly (he was babbling a lot) Stingy Jack: Increased Stingy Jack’s HP to 300 from 275 Increased Stingy Jack’s Stagger gauge to 225 from 200 MULTIPLAYER: Custom Lobbies: Players can now choose the number of players in a matchmaking game. A slider has been added to select 2, 3, or 4 players. You will only matchmake with players who selected those settings as well Pings: An option has been added to the Settings menu to display teammates' pings HUD: We updated the HUD around Heroes to better distinguish between a player's own character and their teammates Host: It’s now displayed on the Results Screen who was the Host of the game MISC: Status: Protection status (INTANGIBLE and BLOCKING) are now displayed above the Hero to get a better sense of what state we're in Quick Guide: Added information on the Hourglass of Dreams and the Overtime in the Quick Guide Fixed bugs GENERAL Modifier: Fixed an issue where ability charges were not properly applied with the ‘Hyperactive’ modifier HUD: Fixed an issue where the VULNERABLE status timer was not displayed in the HUD Timer: Fixed an issue where time spent in the Baba Yaga Epilogue didn’t count in the total playtime (sorry for the speedrunners) Right-joystick: Fixed a behavior where moving the right joystick with any Hero made the circle under the character move (except for the Pied Piper and Kintarō, who use this joystick in their kit, of course!) Network: Fixed an issue where voice chat was not functional after reconnecting in a session Fixed an issue that prevented collected Dream Shards from being distributed to a player who reconnected in a session Fixed an issue where some enemies could not be hit by peers Crash: Fixed specific crashes that could occur in the Results screen and detailed statistics page Localization: Fixed multiple localization issues Heroes General: Fixed an issue where some of the Heroes’ projectile abilities (like Merlin’s Fireball, for example) could be stopped by enemies’ abilities (for instance, apples from Avalon’s Witches) Sun Wukong: Fixed multiple issues related to the ‘Transfiguration’ Ultimate Fixed an issue where YANG stance’s damage modifier was not applied to the Vajra Magical Object Juliet: Fixed a bug that applied POWER’s buff on ATTACKs Enemies Faceless Master Nightmare: Fixed an issue where the rotating beam position was not properly replicated in multiplayer Magical Objects & Melodies Hansel & Gretel: Fixed an issue where damage earned with the ‘Ansel & Gretel’ melody was discarded after using a savepoint between Chapters Green Armor: Fixed an issue where ‘Green Armor’ current count for Armor did not count itself Known issues Romeo & Juliet and Merlin currently have locked Talents for Xbox players. It is due to an error in Xbox’s backend that prevents proper connections to their DLCs. The issue will be fixed in the coming days, as soon as we’re cleared by Microsoft for the release of a patch. We’re sorry for this inconvenience The Kick timer has been temporarily disabled due to an issue that could break Lobbies Scarlet’s Signature & Hidden Outfits cannot be unlocked After using a Raven feather, using Kintaro’s first Ultimate (Giant Carp Supplex) makes Kuma disappear. Teleporting to any location or using the SPECIAL ability will make Kuma appear again Using Kintaro’s TRAIT ability interrupts the ATTACK and breaks the ATTACK combo

What's in Kintarō's Hero DLC and Free Update? (Content Highlights)

Greetings, Ravens! The release date for Kintarō's Hero DLC and our new free update is fast approaching! Now is the time to reveal more details about this new content. Watch out for spoilers! The Kintarō's Hero DLC will be released on October 12 on all platforms. Kintarō joins the Ravenswatch! (Hero DLC) Kintarō is a famous figure in Japanese folklore, symbolizing bravery and innocence. In Ravenswatch, Kintarō was raised by Yama-uba, an ogress of the mountain, and lives in harmony with the wild. He speaks to animals, wrestles bears, and carries the mountain’s strength. DLC Content The idea behind Kintarō was simple: switch between a classic playstyle and dual gameplay, controlling two characters at once. Kintarō is a child mounted on a bear who wields an axe with exceptional strength! Kintarō and Kuma are coming to the Ravenswatch with a full arsenal of Abilities and Ultimates that let them create devastating builds and synergies! Check out Kintarō in action in his introduction video, which breaks down his entire ability set and play style: Discover Kintarō's story in his fully voiced storyline. The Golden Boy's mother, Yama Uba, sent him on a quest to deliver a message to the witch Baba Yaga. Along the way, Kintarō will discover the lands of Reverie, which have been overrun by destructive creatures, and meet the heroes of the Ravenswatch. Here is an excerpt from Kintarō's Memoirs: My Yama-uba wrinkles spread across your face Ike rivers in spring My Yama-uba, old ogress of the wild. I speak to you in my thoughts because here no one hears me. You raised me like the old mountain Ashigara shelters the forest. You watched me from above among the birds and trees, where the wilderness was free and untamed like me! The animals were my brothers and sisters. [...] You entrusted us with a message enclosed in a flower and sent us away. So I bear Ashigara’s hope, I remember your face and long for my return. (Yes, we added a bunch of haikus!) Unlock exclusive Outfits for Kintarō and his bear, Kuma! Customize your look on the battlefield with 7 skins available in this DLC: Kintarō's Animations Animating Kintarō and his bear was a real challenge for our animation team! With two very different characters, one a child and the other a four-legged animal, we had to get extra creative to deliver fluid, impressive, and dynamic animations. In this episode of Raven Eye, our 3D animators Étienne and Benoît take you behind the scenes of Kintarō’s animation. Watch the video closely, you’ll even get a little sneak peek at one of Kintarō’s Ultimates in action! Wishlist Kintarō's DLC! Playing as Kintarō means knowing when to switch between two types of highly dynamic, all-out combat. There’s nothing more satisfying than climbing on and off the Bear in the middle of a fight to string together devastating attacks! Whether you prefer to join forces or fight alongside your faithful companion, Kintarō introduces a whole new way to approach combat. Kintarō's Hero DLC will be available across all platforms for $7,99 Free Update Along with the DLC, a free update will also be available to all players! This update will focus primarily on reworking existing Hero talents. But that's not all! Talents Rework In this video, Slymane (Game Designer at Passtech Games), whom you're starting to know, reveals the philosophy behind the Talents Rework players have been eagerly awaiting and gives you a sneak peek at what’s new. With buffs, behavior changes, and Talents removed and replaced, you’re sure to find a breath of fresh air in this free update! We've revised more than fifty Talents. We'll detail everything in the patch notes upon release, along with design notes from Ravenswatch's designers. Custom Lobbies As part of our ongoing effort to improve the Ravenswatch multiplayer experience, we’ve focused this update on creating custom lobbies. Many of you have asked us for this feature, which now lets you choose the number of players you'd like to find in a matchmaking game. We’ve also added an option to enable a ping indicator between players, so you can check if your connection with your teammates is stable. General Balancing & QoL As usual, we've made a general balancing pass and added some quality-of-life features to the game. Let's have a look at the most significant ones. Melodies Balancing In our latest update, “Songs of Thieves,” we introduced the Melodies mechanic. So it was only natural that we looked at your feedback and made some adjustments. Among the most common pieces of feedback, some players didn’t like that the Fairy Godmother Melody wasn't available until Chapter 3, or that the Little Tailor Melody didn't trigger until Level 10. Here are the changes we’ve made to these two melodies: Melody New Effect Fairy Godmother Melody: Will now be available on every Chapter Little Tailor Melody: Will now trigger above level 6, but grant 1 power-up instead of 3 Scarlet Transformation Scarlet transforming into a wolf, and back again, while the Master Nightmare is stunned? That’s over! We know how frustrating it was to lose those precious seconds of combat. From now on, Scarlet will wait until the boss regains consciousness before shapeshifting! Clarity of Hero Status Effects It used to be hard to tell when our character was in “Invincible” or ‘Intangible’ mode, or when they were “Blocking” attacks. Now, a small text appears above your Hero, making their status effects much clearer! Dev Q&A If you missed it, we can watch back our live Q&A from this week during Kintaro's live Showcase on Twitch and YouTube. We answered a ton of community questions, starting at 1:19:08. Well, well! We had a lot to say! It won't be long now until the release of the Kintaro DLC and its accompanying free update. Mark October 12 in your calendar for the release of this new Ravenswatch milestone on all platforms! Oh, and Ravenswatch is part of the Triple-i Showcase massive sale!
