      An Autumn Update!

It’s been a while since our last update so we wanted to drop you a line on where we’re at and what you can expect to hear from us between now and the end of the year. Firstly , thank you to everyone who participated in the playtest in September. As usual, we received lots of extremely useful feedback on the current build – especially around multiplayer functions and structural changes we made to the starting areas of the game. These tests are invaluable to us, and we’d like to do another one before the end of the year, so keep your ears to the ground! Secondly , we wanted to give you a sneak peek at some of the new elements that we have added to the game! We have added a host of new ‘GPIs’ to the game. These are what we call ‘gameplay ingredients’ which are environmental objects in the game that will affect the player. These new GPIs include: o Cleansable Acid Fog, Cleansable Blood, and other cleansable surfaces. o Freezable traps , such as the Swinging Blade (see below!). o Collapsible Pillars We have also been working on the Iconic’s signature abilities that you will need to master to take on Belcorra’s abdominal creatures on your quest. o Ezren's Howling blizzard can freeze enemies allowing your companions to unleash powerful attacks on them For those lone adventurers we have also added the Orders System too. This will enable the player to give out simple orders or send squad mates to specific places. Thirdly , as you all saw from our State of Play video in July , there’s lots to do to get the game to where we want it to be. In truth, we’ve all had our heads down building the game that you, and we, want. While we work on these changes, this just means you can expect less frequent, but bulkier (and hopefully more meaningful) updates going forward. Lastly , we want to reaffirm that we’re very much committed to getting Pathfinder: Abomination Vaults out in 2027. We don’t yet have an official date for you, but once we have one, you’ll be the first to know. As always, keep sharing your thoughts and feedback with us in the comments here in Discord or kickstarter. Thank you for your patience. Your Pathfinder: Abomination Vaults Team

Today, we have an important development update to share: the game is now planned to launch in 2027 . We know this means a longer wait than we originally expected, but giving the team more time will allow us to deliver the quality, polish, and experience that both you and the game deserve. To show you what that extra time has been spent on, we've put together a new developer update featuring Executive Producer Pierre Leroux and Creative Director Wyatt Gray. They take you through how far the game has come, showcase brand-new environments and gameplay, and share a behind-the-scenes look at work in progress development. We hope you'll watch the video below as we're excited to give you a closer look at what's waiting beneath Gauntlight, and we can't wait to hear what you think! Thanks again for your support! Floors 1, 2, 10, Alternate Outfits and Belcorra!

Hail, Pathfinders! The Gauntlight stirs, and so do we. In this update, we share our progress on three distinct levels and their creative process. Grab your torches and let’s get started! Floor 1: Fogfen Ruins (The Mitflit Camp ) First, we’re thrilled to share more progress on our levels, starting with the Mitflit Camp in the Fogfen Ruins. For the Mitflit camp, we wanted to create something that feels tribal and sloppily put together by these mischievous creatures! With hoarded junk scattered throughout the camp, items gathered from nearby peasants and adventurers. We also took strong inspiration from the mitflits’ love of insects and their ability to control and raise them. This influenced the overall architecture of the camp. We wanted it to feel almost insect-like, with elements of bug parts incorporated into the design. Conveying their mischievous personality was key and led to the idea of covering the camp in graffiti made by the mitflits. One fun idea was to have this graffiti created using fluorescent insect juice, which felt like a strong visual representation of their character. F2: The Servant Quarters For the servant quarters, we went for a more classic abandoned dungeon feel, with castle-like walls and architecture. We incorporated elements of Victorian design to reflect Belcorra’s visual identity. The goal was to add touches of elegance here and there, as it felt fitting that Belcorra would want even the servant quarters to appear somewhat prestigious. The challenge was not to go overboard, since we still wanted the area to feel much more humble than the Haruvex Manor on Floor 4. For the mood, we aimed to keep the zone dark and eerie, as it marks the heroes’ first step into the dungeon. The level is also filled with torture devices, giving players an early glimpse into Belcorra’s sadistic nature. Floor 10: The Temple of Nhimbaloth Let's do one more floor reveal for today, the Temple. For this floor, we wanted to convey Nhimbaloth’s essence through the environment. So we decided to lean into the void and decay as a representation of the Goddess of Despair. The swamp will be visible below the level (under the bridge in this case), while all the void visuals will occupy the upper part of the environment. In other words, the level is split in half, with swamp at the bottom and void at the top. We also added Nhimbaloth iconography throughout the temple! skulls with moss, her star-shaped eye, her color palette, etc. We worked hard on getting the floor design and materials right to express the void within the floor itself. We took inspiration from obsidian and added subtle moving clouds inside the stone, like nebulae. Art Spotlight: Alternate Outfits We are also happy to share updated concept art for the alternate outfits for Amiri, Kyra and Ezren. We’re curious to read which are your favorites. Belcorra Haruvex The Ghost Queen herself, risen from death to enact her vengeance, is also taking shape. We are thrilled to wrap this update with a first look at the 3D render for Belcorra! That’s it for today! Thank you as always for your support!
